Body Pulled from Delaware River

Authorities pulled a body from the Delaware River this weekend.

Coast Guard contacted the police’s Marine Unit when they found the body at Penn’s Landing Pier, 201 S. Columbus Boulevard.

Pulled from the water was a white man in his 40s to 50s, about 240 pounds and wearing a green t-shirt and tan shorts. He appeared to have been in the water for an extended time and was badly decomposed.

The man was reported missing last Tuesday, but police are not releasing his identity until his family is notified.

The Medical Examiner’s office will do an examination to determine if foul play was involved.
