Armed robbers allegedly stole $1 million in jewelry from a South Street jewelry store early this morning, police said.
Authorities said the masked suspects broke into the apartment of the owner of VIP Jewelers, which is above the business on the 600 block of South Street, at around 4 a.m. They allegedly demanded money and keys to the jewelry store. They also bound the victim’s hands and covered his face with a pillowcase.
The attackers were allegedly three to five black males. No further description is available. The incident is being investigated.
