A Texas woman was lured to New Jersey with the promise of a modeling job andforced to dance in a seedy Port Richmond strip club, according to Camden County Prosecutors.
Michael D. Watts, 43, of Voorhees, wascharged with human trafficking along with two women,Staysha L. Hackmann, 25, and Michelle Rolon, 21, both of Voorhees.
Watts allegedly picked up the 20-year-old victim at the airport on Monday, July 13, took her cash,her cell phone and warned her not leave.
He then took her to Club Cove — also known as The Cove — in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia, and told her she would have to dance to earn money. When she refused, Hackmann and Rolon stripped some ofher clothes off of her. David Glassman, a lawyer representing the club, said the allegations were “fantastical.”
“They’re not true,” Glassman said.
Prosecutors say she was forced to dance in the club for the next two nights.
On Thursday, she ran away, and was chased by Hackmann and Rolon. She ran into a bank and asked workers to call police.
Hackmann and Rolon were arrested at the scene. Their bail was set at $25,000.
Bail for Watts was set at $500,000.
