Whether you’re a wizard or a muggle, or… a puggle, the first ever Dogwarts Quidditch Tournament will be taking place this weekend on Sunday, April 30.

Hosted by Craft Hall, Unleashed Bark & Beer and the PSPCA (the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), this free tournament will run from 1 to 4 p.m. and Philadelphians must register their pups in advance to ensure that vaccines and records can be confirmed for all to play.

The festivities start with a sorting hat ceremony at 1 p.m. for the Dogwarts School of Good Boys and Good Girls, and afterwards, the match will commence. There are some stipulations for participants: Puggles must be 45 pounds or under to participate in the match, but those over 45 pounds are welcome to come watch, cheer, bark and play — as well as enjoy Unleashed Bark & Beer with their owners.

And as the release states, in addition to the quidditch match, there will be special backdrops and magical decor to take photos with furry friends for the full Dogwarts experience while owners can indulge in some of the drink specials that are being offered. And with each “potion” purchase, the PSPCA gains a point ($1) donated towards their own Dogwarts house.

Food-wise, Craft Hall also features plenty of options for spectators who work up an appetite. Highlights include a buffalo chicken cobb salad, brisket cheesesteak egg rolls, potato skins, pork spare ribs, a whole smoked cauliflower, corn bread, Mexican baked beans and more.

For this first-ever Quidditch Tournament, warm-ups and outdoor play is welcome at Bark & Beer—Philadelphia’s first dog park and beer garden hybrid. The tournament itself however will take place inside of Craft Hall.

And if you can’t make it to the venue on Sunday, CH is also offering live music the day before, on April 29, as part of their Tribute Band Series in their new space, Craft Hall Live.

As a release states, Craft Hall Live is a new 300 person concert venue used for live music, comedy, shows and other entertainment. The fresh venue has an outside entrance off of Columbus Boulevard, free parking, a new stage, upgraded sound and a killer line-up of craft drafts, cocktails and bar bites.

This Saturday will host Van Halen Nation: Van Halen Tribute Band, and tickets run for $25.
