Decomposing body wearing ‘hospital socks’ found in southwest Philly

A badly decomposed body was discovered in southwest Philadelphia this weekend.

Police are investigating a body found Saturday afternoon in a wooded area at Bartram’s Garden at 5400 Bartram Drive, police toldABC. The body was found alongside the Schuylkill River, approximately 45 feet from the water.

Police said the victim, a black woman, had no signs of trauma, ABC added. Police also said that the victim was wearing blue pants and brown “hospital socks,” Philly.com reported.

The medical examiner plans to perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death, ABC stated.
