Eagles are worst in entire NFL at holding on to football

After turning the ball over three times against the Rams (and somehow still hanging on to win) the Eagles now have 12 giveaways this season — the most in the NFL.

Gone are the days of the most efficiant quarterback in NFL history. A season after posting a QB rating of 119 and throwing 27 touchdowns and just two interceptions, Nick Foles is the Birds’ worst offender. He has five interceptions and a fumble in five games this year, putting him near the bottom of NFL quarterbacks. His 82.5 quarterback rating has him ranked No. 23 this season. It’s a problem that hasn’t cost the Eagles too many games, but it will.

“We just have to do a better job with the turnovers,” Foles said. “I need to do a better job with the ball and we need to just be better with that. We’ll fix that and we’ll keep working.”

LeSean McCoy’s fumble Sunday came after running East, then West, then East again, refusing to accept a two-yard loss and instead losing ten yards and the football.

“I was just trying to make something happen,” McCoy said. “I got the ball and just tried to make a play.”

The Eagles are -4 in turnover differential. The Giants, who the Birds will face at home next Sunday in primetime have a +3 turnover differential.
