The Eagles continue preparing for this weekend’s rookie minicamp by signing three more draft picks to four-year contracts. With DE Vinny Curry, T Dennis Kelly, WR Marvin McNutt all inking four-year deals Wednesday, the team has now signed four of their nine total picks.
Curry, a second-round pick out of Marshall, was considered one of the steals of the Eagles’ draft haul. The speed-rushing end recorded 26 sacks and 10 forced fumbles in his college career, while being named Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year in his senior season. He’s expected to make an immediate impact in the team’s defensive rotation.
Kelly, a fifth-round selection out of Purdue, started 37 consecutive games at left tackle from 2009-11. Coach Andy Reid threw out comparisons to Jon Runyan following the draft.
McNutt, a sixth-rounder out of Iowa, caught a school-record 12 TDs in his season year, while catching 82 balls for 1,315 yards. The 6-foot-3 wide receiver is being heralded as a possible red-zone target for Mike Vick.
