Eagles remain undeterred by blowout loss to Green Bay

It’s probably human nature to lick your wounds after losing by 33-points to a bitter NFC rival (while losing sole possession of first place in the division).

But in the NFL, there is no time for wound-licking, and often times the busy schedule is a good cure for overcoming one bad day.

“I’m not worried if they get it out of their minds; not this group,” Chip Kelly said. “I think they understand. We’ve been around each other long enough. I’ve got great trust in them in terms of their approach.”

With the tretcherous stretch of Cowboys-Seahawks-Cowboys just over the horizon (in Weeks 13-15) the Eagles host the Titans Sunday, a good opportunity to get things back on track before the battle for the division begins.

“I just think that’s how we’re wired,” Kelly said. “It’s about the next challenge and the next opportunity to go out there. You get a bad taste in your mouth, so the only way to get the bad taste out of your mouth is to go out there and play again.”

Not including the Titans game upcoming, four of the Eagles’ final five games come against division foes (with the Redskins and Giants hosting the Birds in the final two weeks). This means the Eagles, essentially control their own destiny.

Thanksgiving is just four days after the Titans game wraps up, so it’s a quick turnaround — one that Kelly is not the least bit worried about.

“We know exactly what we’re going to do on Sunday,” the coach said. “We’ll come back in as coaches right after the Tennessee game and get working on the game plan and be here Sunday working. Then our players will come back in on Monday and we’ll train on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and get ready for the game.”
