Elton John interviews Philly band Low Cut Connie

If you’re a music fan in Philly, chances are you’ve seen Low Cut Connie rock the stage and won’t ever forget it. Known for their unique blend of piano-pounding rock ‘n’ roll, the band is fronted by Adam Weiner on vocals and keys with James Everhart and Lucas Rinz on guitar, Will Donnelly on drums and Larry Scotton on bass.

The band is getting so popular that Weiner was interviewed by Elton John yesterday on his Rocket Hour radio show.

According to Philly.com, the two musicians discussed their love for Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis as well as naming their pianos. (Weiner calls his upright piano that he brings everywhere Shondra and John has pianos named Aretha, Diana and Winifred.)

You can listen to the interview here and it airs again tonight on Beats1 at 7 p.m.

Low Cut Connie performs Musikfest this Saturday and has a show at Union Transfer on Sept. 8.

Check out their latest music video for “Dirty Water” below.
