Ex-Boyfriend Charged in Stabbing Death of Mount Airy Woman

Police have made an arrest in the stabbing death of Mount Airy woman Rosalyn Daniels, 27, who was discovered Monday night.

Daniels’s ex-boyfriend Donald Newsome, 32, of the 1600 block of Brill Street, is being charged with murder and possessing an instrument
of crime, as well as arson, risking a catastrophe, reckless endangerment and related
offenses for allegedly setting fire to the scene in an attempt to cover the crime.

Daniels died of lacerations to the neck, back and throat. She was discovered when authorities responded to reports of smoke coming from the apartment where she lived.
