Woman Struck By Center City Train

A 44-year-old woman is in stable condition after being struck by a SEPTA Regional Rail train this morning at Suburban station.

The incident happened around 8:30 a.m. on Track 4, but reports on how the accident occurred are unclear. According to police, the unidentified woman was standing on the platform looking for the train when an oncoming train struck her in the head. SEPTA officials said the victim is homeless and was trespassing on the track.

The incident did not affect service, SEPTA said. The woman has been taken to Hahnemann University Hospital where she is being treated for a cut to the head and a possible broken leg and hip injury.
