The Flyers signed Wayne Simmonds to a two-year contract extension Thursday, according to GM Paul Holmgren. The deal is worth a reported $1.75 million per season.
The 22-year-old right wing was acquired from Los Angeles — along with center Brayden Schenn and a second-round pick — in the Mike Richards’ deal.
In 80 games last season, he recorded 14 goals and 16 assists. Simmonds was a second-round pick in 2007.
The Flyers continue their Prospect Camp this weekend in Voorhees, N.J.
