Philadelphia Flower Show

It’s that time of year again where the city really starts to bloom—with the 2024 Philadelphia Flower Show that is. With this year’s theme being “United by Flowers,” the annual horticultural event is once again calling the Pennsylvania Convention Center home now until March 10.

Each “neighborhood” in the space will be made to look like gardens, and some will be dedicated to resemble Philly areas like Roxborough, South Philly’s Pennsport, the Italian Market, Spring Garden, Doylestown’s small-town charm, and more. As always, the Flower Show will also feature Artisan Row and while there, visitors can choose from 7 unique artists and create their own elevated floral or gardening-inspired mementos.

The 2024 Philadelphia Flower Show will also host plenty of vendors selling different goods in the Maker’s Market (which has doubled in size this year.) While there, Philadelphians can find handcrafted jewelry, floral relief prints, artwork, essential oils, self-care essentials, and giftable items.

Mermaids at the Adventure Aquarium

Now through March 17 (Thursdays through Sundays) Philadelphians can head to the CAA for Mer-World, the venue’s annual activation that features “real-life” mermaids diving among its collection of sandbar, sand tiger and nurse sharks.

The underwater experience happens in the Shark Realm, and guests can interact and take photos with mermaids in front of a movie-screen-sized window while they’re in the 550,000-gallon exhibit. The activation will also feature meet and greets with mermaids, crafts for kids and plenty of themed food and drinks—like the Mermaid Cotton Candy Dippin’ Dots (cotton candy flash-frozen ice cream bites), Under the Sea Lemonade (blue raspberry lemonade topped with gummy sea stars and sea turtles) and more.

While visiting, guests are also encouraged to check out the Aquarium’s newest augmented reality experience, the Imagination Sand Station, the release also notes. This multi-sensory experience is an engaging and unique way for kids to learn about the earth, geography, and science through hands-on exploration. You may even see the animals that call each of these environments home while there.

Blooming Garden Pop-up at Craftsman Row Saloon

The Philadelphia Flower Show is once again at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, and as an ode to the annual event, Craftsman Row Saloon has a new Blooming Garden Pop-Up. Open now at the Jeweler’s Row venue, this colorful and bright activation will be on scene until Memorial Day Weekend, and in normal fashion, the restaurant and bar has gone all out with decorations and themed menu items.

Craftsman’s latest milkshake creation for the Pop-Up has been dubbed the “Wild(Flower) About You” made with local chocolate ice cream, white chocolate and edible floral bark, strawberry jam puff, rose dust, green sprinkles and whipped cream. Philadelphians can pair the sweet treats with the venue’s new edible “bouquets” as well.

Cocktails have also undergone a garden transformation with options spanning the Petal to the Metal Espresso Martini (vodka, kahlua, baileys, espresso, rosewater and rose), Orange Creamsicle Season (vanilla vodka, triple sec and an orange garden ice cube) and more.
