Homeless man on the run after killing shelter worker

A homeless man was on the run Sunday after heallegedly shot to death oneemployee and injured another at the shelter where he formerly reside.

Police said the shooter was “a prior resident of the shelter.”

The shooting reportedly occurred at 6:13 a.m. inside the Station House Men’s Shelter in North Philly and left a black male in his early 40s dead and a 26-year-old black male injured with a gunshot to the hip.

The shooter was evicted from the shelter, and got into an argument with the shelter workers when he returned to get his belongings, before shooting both of them, the Daily News reported.

The shooter was last seen fleeing behind the railroad tracks directly behind the shelter, which are used by SEPTA Regional Rail trains.

No weapons havebeen recovered and no arrests have been made, police said.

The suspect was last seen wearing a green hoodie, blue jeans and a black skull cap, police said.
