Investigators question man in Rittenhouse rape near G Lounge

Investigators with the Special Victims Unit are questioning a man in the
brutal sexual assault of a woman near G Lounge in the Rittenhouse Square area early Friday morning,
but no charges have yet been filed.

The victim, 21, went behind the club at 17th and Chestnut streets
around 1 a.m. to meet members of a band that had been playing inside and helped them
load equipment into their van. After they left, she tried to
reenter the club, but the doors were locked.

An unknown male then came up and offered to help. As she followed him to another entrance, he grabbed her by the hair, forced her
between two dumpsters and sexually assaulted to her.

The investigation continues.
