When Joseph Anthony opened a third location in Philadelphia’s Loews Hotel, the venue brought an opulent experience right to the heart of Center City. If you’re a pro-spa-goer, Joseph Anthony has everything you need and more when it comes to services and experiences, and if you’re a newbie, get ready to truly be dazzled by the plush atmosphere—including with their special floral/facial offerings that expire at the end of this month.

But, the superb treatment really starts as soon as you walk in the door.

The facilities are so extensive, that they take up the entire fifth floor of the Loews boasting over 15,000 square feet. In addition to the signature a la carte services (including hair, face and body treatments) Joseph Anthony also declared June ‘Beautiful in Your Skin Month’, which according to a release, celebrates the idea of loving and enhancing your skin by opting for numerous skincare methods. The salon aims to increase your confidence by providing tools that may tackle issues that will hinder one’s confidence.

One of those treatments that helps with that ideology comes in the form of a Hydrafacial, which has everything you need and want in a facial with the added bonus of extra moisture and care. The official website states that this treatment deeply cleanses, exfoliates, extracts, and hydrates the skin utilizing super serums filled with antioxidants, peptides, and hyaluronic acid—and the treatment also does not neglect your neck.

The process feels decadent and comfortable, and throughout the experience, you almost feel the benefits of the treatment (which utilizes LED Light Therapy and all of the essentials of the JA HydraFacial MD) immediately. Utilizing a machine, it’s a surreal feeling of both cleansing and moisturizing simultaneously that goes into the process, and you see results instantly—just take a peek for yourself in the mirror after you take a post-facial break in the enchanting Salt Room while there (which typically has snacks and fresh-baked cookies.)

And it’s something that can become a normal occurrence with the Spa’s membership options, which include both normal and hydro facials for a specific price, and upgrades are available.

Another unique experience includes the Soft Pack Dry Float. The service features a wrap treatment and float on the soft pack system in a pressure-free cushion of water. The Dry Float is so effective, it is said to have the same results of a few hours worth of sleep or of a normal massage experience in less than half of the time. While “floating” guests will also receive a body scrub, scalp and facial massage, and a light application of cream or oil to their body to calm their mind and soothe their spirit. The atmosphere—which utilizes dim lights, and peaceful music followed by a warm shower—just sinks all of that ideology in more for visitors.

June also holds some special floral-based experiences in correlation with the Philadelphia Flower Show, which was underway earlier this month. In the spirit of the show’s theme ‘In Full Bloom,’ Joseph Anthony utilized limited-edition botanically-enhanced body treatments at discounted prices. For the Soft Pack Floats ($165) there are a few different options to indulge in: Rose Petal (balancing and mood-elevating), Sunflower (detoxifying and antioxidant), Edelweiss (smoothing and hydrating), and a combination of Elderflower and Lavender (warming, calming and detoxifying).

The special activation also hosts body scrubs ($110) utilizing Chamomile (calming and soothing) and Orange Blossom (harmonizing and invigorating). Philadelphians can indulge in it all for themselves until June 30, but of course the spa has other options after the end date.

One of those definitely worth mentioning (for the uniqueness on its own) is the authentic Turkish Bath. Products and equipment were flown from Europe to make sure the experience is actually genuine, and it is quite sublime. The room itself looks magical with therapeutic lights changing colors every few minutes, comforting music echoing, heated tables for you to lie on and Swarovski Crystals lining the ceiling that gleam like stars in the sky during the service. Guests can choose from options including Aqua, Warming and Body Scrub Experiences, or opt to try the signature Joseph Anthony Experience focusing on body rituals utilizing mud, oil and the power of rejuvenating water circuits.

From start to finish, Joseph Anthony feels like a luxury—everywhere you turn there are little reminders that you are in a facility that is truly dedicated to relaxation and opulence—something the Loews is used to doing.

So what are you waiting for Philly? It’s about time you treated yourself.
