Kathryn Knott faces judge in Center City gay bashing

Kathryn Knott, the Bucks County woman convicted of participating in the Center City assault of a gay couple, was sentenced Monday to 5 to 10 months in prison.

Knott, 25, was convicted of simple assault and reckless endangerment in the attack near 13th and Chancellor Streetin September 2014.

Co-defendants Phillip Williams and Kevin Harriganpreviouslypleaded guilty Thursday to assaultunder a negotiated plea deal under which they got no jail time and were banned from Center City.

Williamspleaded guilty to aggravated assault and got five years of probation and 200 hours of community service at an organization for gay, lesbian, and transgender people.

Harrigan pleaded guilty to simple assault and got three years of probation and community service.

The three were part of a group that attacked a gay couple after the two groups encountered each other on the street.

One of the victims suffered a broken orbital bone and a broken jaw, which was wired shut for eight weeks.
