Lizz Winstead, a co-creator of the “The Daily Show”, is bringing her “Planned Parenthood, I Am Here For You!” comedy tour to Philadelphia tonight.
Winstead is traveling the East Coast and Midwest in her car to raise money for the besieged womens clinic.
“I and every woman in my circle have used the services of Planned Parenthood. I bet the protesters outside my performances also know someone that has used Planned Parenthood,” Winstead said.
“Ninety-seven percent of what Planned Parenthood does is to keep women healthy at an affordable price.”
Her stand-up routine is 75 minutes of topical political satire, which is tweaked nightly depending on the day’s events. It ends with her reading an essay about her teenage pregnancy.
Winstead is anticipating protesters. “Conservatives, instead of worrying about jobs and the economy, are blasting Planned Parenthood,” she said. “Some protesters come with fetuses.”
