Man fatally shot in chest during Montco church dispute

A person was reportedly killed by a fellow church member after an altercation during worship Sunday morningat a church in North Wales, Pennsylvania.

No motive was reported for the shooting at Keystone Fellowship Montgomeryville during 11 a.m. services on Sunday. The church confirmed the incident via Facebook.

“We at Keystone are saddened to confirm that a shooting took place at our Montgomeryville campus this morning,” the church said.”One man was shot and another is being questioned by police; no one else was hurt. Police and medical personnel were called immediately. Police are investigating and we will release further information as soon as it becomes available. Our congregation is in prayer for everyone involved.”

Multiple media reports and the Associated Press stated that the man shot Sunday died of his injures.

The victim, identified as Robert Braxton, 27, by WMFZ, was reportedly shot in the chest as three bullets rang out during the church service.

A person of interest was cooperating with police, had sustained an injury and was released from a hospital, WFMZ said. No arrests were reported.

The shooter reportedly had a concealed carry permit, the Inquirer reported.

“We have to determine if the shooting was justified under the law,” Montco DA Kevin Steele told the Inquirer.
