Treat your pups to something special this weekend in Philly

Philadelphia loves its four-legged friends, and this weekend, you can show them a little extra love, too. In celebration of National Dog Day on Friday, Aug. 26, there are a few venues in and just a short drive from the city that want to shower Philly pups with love, and we’ve got the scoop on where to go.

Ghost Light Inn

The 12-room boutique inn overlooking the Delaware River in New Hope is offering a special Dog Lover’s Delight package—which is available as an add-on to any reservation from Wednesday to Sunday for $300. The amenities include a Ghost Light dog collar, a personalized dog name tag, a leather potty bag pouch, doggy bandana, dog treats from a local bakery, a gift certificate for a Pet Portrait by L.E Arts, LLC, a pet-friendly local guide for things to do, and more.

And as a release states, come dinnertime, folks are also welcome to dine on-site al fresco alongside their canine friends at Stella of New Hope, Ghost Light Inn’s modern American in-house restaurant also sharing in the Delaware River vista. The restaurant is named after owners Sherri and Kevin Daugherty’s beloved rescued pit bull Stella and features a deluxe Pup Menu, which includes decadent dog-friendly options of Ground Beef & Barley with Sweet Potatoes ($10), Chicken & Brown Rice with English peas ($11), and Farro & Salmon Belly ($14).

Hyatt Centric Center City Philadelphia

There’s another option for a getaway with your pup, but this time, it’s a bit more of a staycation. Rittenhouse Square’s Hyatt is offering Philadelphians and travelers the option to getaway with two pups being just steps away from pooch parks and dog-friendly outdoor cafés, and even a pup-friendly ice cream spot.

And with advance notice, the hotel provides water bowls, doggie treats and in-room dog beds. Hyatt Centric requires a $100 pet fee for guests who stay for 1-6 nights, and a $200 fee for guests who stay for 7-30 nights (and the weight limit for pawed patrons is 50 pounds per dog, or 75 pounds combined for two.)
