Sunday marks National Tequila Day — although who needs an official date to enjoy the agave-based spirit? — and to celebrate, here are some flavorful options from Philly hotspots.

Make it spicy with Dolce Italian

The swanky eatery located inside the W Hotel Philadelphia offers a spin on a tequila cocktail that brings some heat. The “El Diablo” is infused with jalapeño patron reposado, crème de cassis, ginger and lime.

Make it Philly with The Wayward

Although it feels like a French Brasserie here (technically it’s dubbed an American Brasserie), The Wayward is keeping their tequila cocktail local with the “Wooder Melon.” Made with Hornitos blanco tequila, salted watermelon, combier, lime and jalapeño oil, this beverage tastes like summer, and looks like it, too.

Make it prickly with The Love

This Stephen Starr hotspot offers a unique fruity spin on their own tequila cocktail with “The Broken Arrow.” The drink features reposado tequila margarita, lime, prickly pear purée, agave and salt to help keep this National Tequila Day sweet.

Make it last with Hook & Master

Hook & Master, who recently just opened their outdoor patio, has a cocktail that’ll keep your spirits up this National Tequila Day. Their “Long Hot, Tall and Refreshing” is made with arette reposado tequila, Banhez mezcal, amaro, pineapple, lime and long hot juice.

Make it affordable with Aqimero

The Ritz Carlton’s acclaimed eatery is offering Philadelphians a chance to enjoy half-priced margaritas on July 24 in recognition of the holiday. Their margarita options span a regular, spicy or seasonal (which rotates), and guests can also upgrade to premium tequila for $5 per shot.

Make it a whole occasion with El Vez

El Vez is a staple for most taco and tequila lovers, and they have plenty of reasons to showcase why that is. With an extensive collection of tequilas taking up a large portion of the cocktail menu, this the go-to spot to celebrate National Tequila Day in Philly. The Center City hotspot will be offering tequila flights with a personalized trio of tequilas to taste, including a selection blanco, reposado, añejo, or mezcal on the flight menu.

Ranch Water, a Texas-style tequila drink made with lime, 21 Seeds Blanco tequila and Topo Chico will also be available in three refreshing flavors: Valencia orange, cucumber jalapeño, and grapefruit hibiscus. Lastly, margaritas made with hand-squeezed lime juice will be available by the glass or pitcher. El Vez has a huge selection of margaritas, including their fan favorite frozen blood orange margarita and their newly launched frozen spicy mango margarita.
