A Philadelphia police officer was shot and killed Thursday while responding to a robbery in a Gamestop store.
The officer has been identified by the Inquirer as Robert Wilson, a 15-year veteran of the 22nd District.
The shooting occurred around 4:45 p.m. in North Philadelphia inside a Gamestop at 22nd Street and Lehigh Avenue.
The officer was transported to Temple University Hospital in “extremely critical condition” with a gunshot wound to the head, and passed away, NBC reported.
The officer, from the 22nd District, is believed to have been responding to a call for a burglary when the shots were fired.
One suspect was transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center for medical treatment for a gunshot to the leg.
