Okafor fined for going 108 mph over Philly bridge

The Sixers’ star rookieJahlil Okafor was ordered Thursday to pay$439 for zooming over the Ben Franklin Bridge, but won’t do any community service.

Okafor was pulled over in New Jersey after flying over the bridge at 108 miles per hour in a white Mercedes-Maybach inOctober. The speed limit on the bridge is 45 miles per hour.

A Camden judge approved the plea deal letting Okafor plead guilty tooperating a vehicle in an unsafe manner instead of reckless driving charges andskate away with just a fine over objections from the Camden law departmenton Thursday, the Inquirer reported.

Okaforhad a security guard assigned to follow him wherever he goes after news of his hot wheels broke and video surfaced of him brawling on the streets of Boston outside a bar.

Okafor tweeted in November after news of him speeding over the bridge broke, “I hold myself to a higher standard than anyone else ever could and I’m not proud of some of my decisions over the last few months. …I own my choices both personally and now publicly. At this point I am cooperating and respecting the process I have to go through.”
