SEPTA police have announced the first arrest of a suspect in the brutal group beating of two high school students on a SEPTA platform captured on video.
Andrzei Bodziak, 18, was arrested Saturday morning without incident after SEPTA police executed a search warrant on the 1600 block of Fillmore Street, SEPTA said.
SEPTA police obtained a warrant for Bodziak’s home during the investigation of the brutal assault at the Spring Garden station of SEPTA’s Broad Street Line.
The fight happened around 3:15 p.m. April 21.
The wild melee targeted on two Benjamin Franklin High School students and involved more than a dozen assailants. The attackers are seen stomping on the head of one victim during the fight.
At onepoint an attacker falls onto the train tracks, before jumping back up to continue the fight.
SEPTA Police Chief Thomas Nestel III previously said that no witnesses to the incident called 911.
Bodziak will face charges of aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, conspiracy, disorderly conduct, harassment, possession of an instrument of crime, and charges for illegally carrying a firearm.
No further information about the specific charges was available.
A SEPTA spokesman said Sunday morning that no other arrests have been made.
