This past weekend, Philadelphia’s movers and shakers came together at the Westin Hotel for BLINGO — “a night of bingo, bling and celebration”— to raise money for Cure Duchenne, an organization dedicated to finding a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
The fatal genetic disease affects 1 in 3500 boys with most being diagnosed before age five. By 12, they’re not able to walk and most don’t make it to their mid-20s.
At the event, 300 guests got together for cocktails before dinner and “blingo.” Celebrity ball callers were Dr. Jen Caudle, Kathy Romano, Geno Vento, Scott Williams, Former Gov. Ed Rendell and former Philadelphia Eagles player, Tra Thomas. Thomas also emceed the event.
