Police ID bandits caught stealing nearly $1,000 in sunglasses

Two thieves who brazenly snatched up to a thousands dollars worth of eyeglasses from a LensCrafters in Wyoming Valley Mall have been identified, police said Monday.

Wilkes-Barre police did not name the suspects, but said they will soon be charged for the Aug. 15 incident, video of which went viral and was seen by more than 50,000 people.

“After receiving multiple tips, the suspects have been positiviely identified,” the Wilkes-Barre police department said in a statement. “Thank you to all those who submitted tips. Charges will be filed accordingly.”

The suspects, a male and female duo, stole four pairs of sunglasses from a display in the LensCrafters worth an estimated $750.
