Police are seeking the driver who they say fatally struck a bicyclist one week ago in Kensington and fled the scene.
Raymond Wands, 38, of Frankford,has been identified as the driver of a red 1989 Ford F-150 pickup truck that struck 55-year-old Julio Torres, before being ditched a block away.
A warrant was issued Sunday for Wands’ arrest on charges of homicide by vehicle, homicide by vehicle while DUI andleaving the scene of an accident.
Police say around 10:30 p.m. on June 22, police were called to the scene of the accident on the 600 block of East Erie Avenue.
Torres was found on the street with head trauma and was brought toTemple University Hospital in critical condition. The truck involved in the crash was found by policea block away, where the driver left it before fleeing on foot, police say. Two days later, Torres died from injuries sustained in the crash at 1:30 p.m.
