Police officer arrested for soliciting prostitute in Hunting Park

A Philadelphia Police officer was arrested for solicitation of a prostitute in Hunting Park on Oct. 16 and today was formally charged with criminal solicitation and patronizing a prostitute, the Philadelphia Police announced today.

Officer Ronald D. Thompson, 55, is a 26-year veteran of the department. He’s assigned to the Airport Unit.

The charges are the result of a patronizing operation by Citywide Vice Enforcement in the 25th District.

Thompson has been suspected for 30 days with the intent to dismiss.
