Police released images Tuesday night of a man investigators believe could be connected to a hit-and-run crash earlier this week that killed an 8-year-old boy.
The photos appear to be screenshots from surveillance cameras inside a store. Authorities did not refer to the man as a suspect but said they want the public’s help to identify him.
Ja-Kha House died less than an hour after being struck by a speeding SUV Monday afternoon at the corner of 33rd and Huntingdon streets in Strawberry Mansion.
Several hours later, officers found the suspect’s car, a 2014 Buick Enclave that had been reported stolen, abandoned near Fairmount Park in West Philadelphia, according to police. Investigators said two men had been spotted running from the SUV.
Anyone with information about the crash or the man in the surveillance images is asked to contact the Accident Investigation Division at 215-685-3180/3181 or dial 911.
