Police shoot knife-wielding suspect in South Philadelphia

Police shot a man in South Philadelphia on Thursday night after arriving at 10th and Mifflin streets to find him allegedly having stabbed two people.

Police say the 23-year-old stabbing suspect injured two men, a 54-year-old father and the man’s 24-year-old son, during the incident, which occurred shortly after 10 p.m., CBS3 reports.

A police officer reportedly shot the suspect three times after the man refused to drop the knife and pointed it at police. The 23-year-old man was treated at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.

The stabbing victims were last reported to be in stable condition at Hahnemann University Hospital.
