South Phila. strip joint held up for $33K

The manager of a Columbus Boulevard strip club was robbed at gunpoint Saturday afternoon and two assailants allegedly made off with $33,000.

When the manager of Club Onyx was unlocking the front door around 3:20 p.m., an unknown man ran at him from the north side of the building and ordered him and a cleaning worker into the office. He was allegedly forced to open the safe as another robber joined them inside.
Police worked yesterday to determine whether surveillance cameras recorded any evidence.

The suspects are described as two black men, 25 to 30 years old, wearing ski masks and black clothing. They were armed with at least one black handgun. Neither the manager nor the cleaning person was injured. The club was closed at the time of the robbery.
