What’s better than a day celebrating Star Wars, one of the most popular franchises ever? A four-day episodic weekend celebrating that very same franchise.
This weekend, beginning Thursday, May 1, and continuing through Sunday, May 4, Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company is hosting four days of galactic fun and festivities for everyone, even all forms of scum and villainy. The weekend will be highlighted by special daily events and featuring the return of Galactic Empire for ‘Revenge of the Sith.’
To accompany the weekend-long celebration, Neshaminy Creek will also release a special Star Wars-themed beer, Bespin’s Best — a 5.7% ABV golden lager featuring rich baked bread notes, malty sweetness, and a crisp, dry finish. Neshaminy Creek will also have plenty of themed cocktails to keep the intergalactic party going all weekend.
Star Wars Trivia Night
On Thursday, May 1, you can test your Star Wars knowledge at with planet-sized prizes, including a pair of tickets to see Galactic Empire live on Saturday, May 3. It’s time to show off your knowledge from Alderan to Zabrak. Lunch Money Quizzo will host trivia, and Uncle Vin’s Food Truck will serve food from across the galaxy. Blue Milk cocktails will be available with a non-alcoholic version for younglings and abstaining rebels. All ages are welcome, and even for trivia novices, you too can be on the council, even if you’re not granted the rank of trivia master.
Screening of the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special
On Friday, May 2, at 7 p.m., Neshaminy Creek Brewing Co. has a truly special treat for Star Wars fans as they team up with Tapes From The Crypt and Vintage View Cinemas to screen the infamous, the baffling, the bewildering, and yet bold, Wookiee-filled fever dream, the Star Wars Holiday Special. For those who’ve yet to see it, there’s no way to fully prepare for what the viewing experience has in store, but rest assured, it will change you. Those who have seen it, especially those watching it again, can attest to that.
ReThird of the Jedi bash
The highlight of the four-day extravaganza, ReTHIRD of the Jedi: A Day of Fermenting Fando, hits Neshaminy Creek on Saturday, May 3. An event so massive, it’ll make the Death Star look no larger than a womp rat. At noon, travelers can enjoy the Yub Nub Market, which features comics, collectibles, and more. The day will also feature Flash Tattoo-ine Session with Cosmic Primate and Hidden Hannya Tattoo, as well as themed drinks, including Bespin’s Best, a new Star Wars-inspired beer, food trucks, a costume contest at 4 p.m., and the star of the show, a live performance by Galactic Empire, performing tributes to John Williams at 8:30 p.m.
Blue Milk Brunch
To wrap up the weekend, while giving those in need a solid recovery plan, an afternoon more revitalizing than a bacta tank, Neshaminy Creek will host a Blue Milk Brunch, the ultimate Star Wars Day celebration, on Sunday, May the 4th. As for what you can find on the menu, the legendary Blue Milk Cocktail — with a non-alcoholic version for all the younglings — will make a return, as will other themed drinks. The Bespin’s Best brew will also make an appearance.
Food-wise, a cereal bar large enough to fill a Salack pit that will safely deliver you into the comforting hands of sugary nostalgia.
