This weekend holds the annual Chestnut Hill Fall for the Arts Festival, and everyone can join in on the fun at this family-friendly and pet-friendly activation.
Taking place on Sunday, Oct. 12, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Germantown Ave will be full of live demonstrations, children’s activities, live music, culinary treats, and boutique shopping showcasing what the local area and beyond has to offer.
First and foremost, the festival will feature plenty of opportunities to shop with more than 300 diverse artists and vendors offering oils, watercolors, etchings, photography, sculpture, pottery, wood crafts, jewelry, and accessories.
Provided/En Route MarketingMore than just a celebration of creativity, the Fall for the Arts Festival is also a vibrant showcase of Chestnut Hill’s local culture and community spirit, made up of more than a dozen restaurants and over 80 specialty stores, including galleries, boutiques, and home and garden retailers, a release notes. That means while at the event, businesses in Chestnut Hill will offer a variety of specials and activities—like the popular children’s store Little Wares will host a free kiddos music class and at Gravers Lane Gallery, festivalgoers can enjoy a live jewelry-making demonstration with Philadelphia artist Niki Leist.
The activation will also feature plenty of opportunities to check out live performances and music both at the Stagecrafters and Bethlehem Pike Stage. Additional local festival activations include live performances from members of DanceFit and a special musical performance by local band Urban Drawl at Chestnut Hill Brewing Company.
New this year, festivalgoers will be able to pick up a brush and join regional artist Louis DeVito in an interactive community mural to be created at Makers Village, located in front of NoName Gallery. And as a release also notes, the festival's Kids Artist Booth will give young creatives the chance to proudly display their artwork and share their talents with the community. Adding to the celebration, this year’s festival coincides with Free Gumbo Day, so visitors are recommended to come hungry and ready to eat while perusing around.
