Looking for some fun and unique things to do in Philly this weekend? We’ve got you covered.
POST Tours
POST is a program of The Center for Emerging Visual Artists (CFEVA), and it’s Philly’s largest self-guided tour. In 2025, this citywide celebration will feature detailed experiences, plus, hands-on workshops, gallery exhibitions, live demonstrations, artist talks, receptions, and special events. This final weekend of the tours will tackle studios west of Broad Street, with neighborhoods spanning Center City West, Chestnut Hill, Mount Airy, East Falls, Roxborough, Manayunk, Fairmount, Francisville, Germantown and West Philadelphia.
Each studio will be open from noon to 6 p.m. on their designated days, and participants can use the online and print maps provided by CFEVA to guide their tours. Each stop on POST will feature red balloons and branded posters outside of their locales to help with distinction.

GOAToberfest
This isn’t your typical Oktoberfest celebration. On Saturday, Oct. 18, Philly Goat Project will throw its fourth annual GOAToberFest. The event will feature goat art raffles, historic cemetery tours, a goat photobooth, yard games, s’mores by the fire pit, snacks, plus, plenty of time to spend with the Goat Project’s 13 beloved goats.
As a release notes, attendees will also be the first to see and purchase the signature 2026 Goat Calendar, which celebrates the 250th anniversary of the country. The calendar features the goats at the Museum of the American Revolution, with the Hamilton cast, on the Sixers’ refurbished community basketball court with their mascot, and many more landmark spots. Costumes (either Oktoberfest or Halloween) are welcome, and tickets ($75) are available online.

Philadelphia Film Festival
The 34th Annual Philadelphia Film Festival rolls out the red carpet this week, with a full slate of screenings and programming set to hit the city from Oct. 16 to 26.
This year’s Festival will offer in-person screenings at all PFS venues (the Film Society Center, Film Society Bourse, and Film Society East) and while at the Center, audiences might notice some changes: The FSC recently underwent a $4 million renovation and just reopened to the public with an updated design and look. A great way to check out the refurbishment is through the Festival’s opening night film (set for Thursday, Oct. 16.) The screening, ‘Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery’, is the latest from two-time Academy Award nominee Rian Johnson in his Daniel Craig-led detective series.
The Film Festival offers three badge levels – Weekend ($250), All Access ($500), and Student ($75). Members get an additional 10% off Weekend and All Access Badges, while stand-alone tickets (prices vary) are also available online (as is a digital guidebook to the full experience.)
