Police arrested a suspect for a January homicide in Germantown on Wednesday evening.
Rashaun Peterson, 20, of the 1500 block of Widener Street, is charged with the murder of Aquil Tyree Bickershaft, 28, police said.
The shooting reportedly occurred just before 7 a.m. on Monday, January 13, on the 2100 block of East Chelten Avenue.
Police from the 35th District were notified of a “person with a gun” at 7:06 a.m. and upon arrival found Aquil lying on the sidewalk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He would pronounced dead at 8:32 a.m.
Peterson was previously arrested in December on charges of theft and in February for possession of a controlled substance, according to court records.
He is now charged with murder and possession of an instrument of crime.
