The future for the two daughters of Bradley Stone remains uncertain

Authorities say it’s unclear whose care Bradley Stone’s two now-orphaned daughters of will be entrusted.

“All of the people they would have called to help navigate things like the funeral arrangements are dead,” said Kevin Steele, Montgomery County First Assistant District Attorney. “But I know they are currently with family members.”

Steele would not comment on whose side of the family the children were staying, or whether Stone had any family members of his own.

The fate of Stone’s two daughters, ages 8 and 5, changed dramatically after their 35-year-old father killed their mother and her five immediate family members and severely injured her nephew, Anthony Flick.

“It’s going to be determined by the Family Court,” Steele said. “And I think everybody recognized they have a real hard road ahead.”

Frank Farley, a psychologist at Temple University and former president of the American Psychological Association, said the court should first look at any extended family.

“It’s usually better to leave the kids with family rather than a foster family,” said Farley, who lives in Montgomery County. “But these are children and they need to have a happy, healthy, positive future without the baggage of the past and that is the challenge going forward.”

Local radio station Word FM, the Souderton-Telford Rotary and Univest Foundation partnered to create the Stone & Flick Children Fund to help raise money for Stone’s two surviving daughters.

The fund will also help Flick, the sole survivor of the brutal killing spree that left six of Flick’s family members dead, including his mother, father and sister. The fund started with $5000, and donations are accepted at WordFM.org.

“We know that we can never put back together the pieces that thesechildren have lost, but our hope is that as the generosity of ourcommunity members comes forth, we’ll be able to provide a little peaceand comfort,” Dave Baker, Word FM station manager, said in a news release.
