UPDATED Police Identify Man Killed by Car After Exiting SEPTA Bus

A man was killed yesterday evening when he was hit by a car after exiting a bus in Fairmount.

Qingstian Zhang, 62, of the 300 block of North 11th Street in Chinatown, exited a SEPTA bus on the 1200 block of Ridge Avenue and was hit by a passenger vehicle shortly before 6 p.m.

He was taken to Hahnemann Hospital, where he was pronounced dead minutes later.

The car that hit him stopped at the scene. Police do not expect charges to be filed against the driver.
