VIDEO How to unwrap a Tastykake without icing sticking to wrapper

It’s happened to every Philadephian. You peel the wrapper off your Tastykake and the icing separates, leaving you with a spongy cake in one hand, a sugar-coated piece of plastic in the other and the burning question: should I lick it?

An extremely informative video from Laurie Mac’s HOW TO, etc. Youtube channel illustrates a solution that will save untold numbers from a face full of frosting.

The video, also featuring Kathy as the “Tastykake god” who steps in to inform Laurie of the proper method, has even inspired its own Philadelphia Speaks thread.

Apparently, the method is “nothing new to oldtimers.”
