2 women wounded in overnight violence

Two women were injured in separate violent incidents Monday night across the city.

Police said a 30-year-old woman was shot once in her hand at around 11:20 p.m. on the 600 block of Franklin Place, part of the Philadelphia Housing Authority’s Spring Garden Apartments development in North Philadelphia.

She was taken to Jefferson University Hospital to be treated for nonlife-threatening injuries.

Minutes earlier, at around 11:15 p.m., someone stabbed a woman several times outside on the 6000 block of Regent Street in Southwest Philadelphia, according to authorities. She was later listed in stable condition at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.

No arrests were made in the immediate aftermath of either incident.
