The Bearded Ladies Cabaret Company will return this September with their roving cabaret truck, The Beardmobile. Starting Sept. 17, the 15-foot box truck will be the main stage for a series of pay-what-you-wish outdoor pop-up performances throughout Philadelphia called the Fall Love Tour, which will be presented as part of the 2021 Fringe Arts Festival.
“The Fall Love Tour is going to be a wild ride,” says Cat Ramirez, Line Producer for the Bearded Ladies Cabaret in a statement. “There’s so much incredible creative work happening all the time in Philly, across disciplines and genres. The Love Tour and everyone involved — from our partners and performers to our crew, admin, and front of house staff — are a testament to the brilliance, thoughtfulness, and care characteristic of Philly’s artist community.”
The 4-week Fall Love Tour will mount pop-up performances designed to be enjoyed at a distance all over Philadelphia. Partners include Vox Populi and the moon baby, ILL DOOTS, William Way, dain saint, Wilma Portable Studio, and more. Returning to help steer the Beardmobile are hosts Anthony Martinez-Briggs aka US of ILL DOOTS, Sam Rise of Girls Rock Philly, and award-winning performers like Cookie Diorio, Jess Conda, Eric Jaffe, Brett Robinson, and Bearded Ladies Artistic Director, John Jarboe.
The Bearded Ladies Cabaret is a Philadelphia-based troupe of artists who use cabaret to tackle the politics of gender, identity, and artistic invention with sparkle and wit. Their productions also draw from traditional theatre, opera, dance, and art installation. In their 10-year history, they have collaborated with the Wilma Theater, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Kimmel Center, Opera Philadelphia, FringeArts, and Eastern State Penitentiary to bring their unique form of cabaret to more than 10,000 Philadelphians.
