Philadelphia City Paper is debuting a completely new design in its latest issue, to hit news stands for the first time today.

City Paper, which is owned by Metro US, has adopted a new visual aesthetic that’s featured prominently in their cover story on local musician Waxahatchee.

Senior designer Brenna Adams called it “a grown-up look.”

The redesigned paper features new fonts, more photos, new layouts and a more modern, edgier look.

“Our commitment to offering the best in investigative journalism and staying on top of the local arts, music and food scenes remains unchanged,” said City Paper editor in chief Lillian Swanson in a letter to readers. “We see it simply as delivering the stories, reviews and events you’ve come to count on in a more engaging way.”
