BUCKS COUNTY – The former head of the Bensalem police department’s special victims unit was found guilty in a Bucks County court Friday of sexually assaulting a volunteer part-time medic. The assault occurred in March at the rescue-squad headquarters where people gathered to mourn a medic’s death.
Former police sergeant Michael Marren’s claimed he rebuffed the accuser’s advances. The married father of four wept as he was convicted of felony aggravated indecent assault but acquitted of felony sexual assault.
“Hopefully the court will realize that this was an aberration,” defense attorney Jack McMahon told the Bucks County Courier Times.
