One of the tastiest dates of the year is right around the corner. Here is where to celebrate National Cheesesteak Day in Philadelphia (March 24) in 2025.

The Prime Rib

With the tasty holiday on the horizon, The Prime Rib inside Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia is offering a special menu item and a unique sip. Their cheesesteak sandwich is made with thinly sliced filet, wild mushrooms, caramelized cippolini onions, black truffle cheese sauce and 23k gold leaves. The Millionaire Martini on the other hand is made”Philly-Style” with Bombay Sapphire, Lillet, cava brut, olives stuffed with caviar and a cube of 18-month aged-Parmigiano Reggiano wrapped in thinly sliced Wagyu, gilded with 23k carat gold leaves.

Both items will be available at the locale now through Monday, March 24.

Woodrow’s

Many think a typical cheesesteak “Whiz Wit” can’t be taken up a notch, but at this South Street locale, it can be. With Woodrow’s housemade truffle wiz, Philadelphians will be able to sink their teeth into an elevated classic. Add a side of fries (and go crazy with an extra truffle wiz cheese sauce side) to really seal the deal. Note, this locale is cash only.

Famous 4th Street Delicatessen

You might typically reach for a deli sandwich when here, but Famous 4th Street is also serving up a few tasty options for National Cheesesteak Day in Philadelphia. Options span the classic Cheesesteak ($22), Chicken Cheesesteak ($19.5), Famous Cheesesteak ($25, made with a blend of pastrami, corned beef, and brisket), and the Pastrami Cheesesteak ($24).

Each item can be customized with a choice of American, Swiss, or Cooper Sharp cheese, plus the option to add mushrooms or onions. Philadelphians can enjoy it alongside a selection of sides like potato salad, coleslaw, or crispy potato pancakes.

Lucky’s Last Chance

You typically don’t find the iconic city sandwich on Lucky’s menu, but on Monday, March 24, both the Queens Village and Manayunk locations will be serving up a classic cheesesteak (the Roxborough location is closed on that date.) The sandwiches will be made with their signature ribeye, Cooper Sharp, their house cheese sauce, and the optional diced onions on a garlic butter toasted Liscio’s Bakery seeded roll.

The Hayes

You can keep it classic for National Cheesesteak Day in Philadelphia while here with the Hayes Cheesesteak ($17.) The sandwich is made with shaved beef, kielbasa, sharp American cheese, fried onions, and mustard, served on a seeded Liscio’s roll and accompanied by a side of crispy fries.

Angelo’s Pizzeria

Angelo’s has become a staple in the city, so much so, that this take-out only locale seems to always have a bit of a line (but thankfully it’s worth a quick wait.) This venue keeps it classic, but for good reason—the bread, meat and cheese combo here doesn’t need any frills to be just as equally as tasty as any upscale picks in the area.

Red Owl Tavern

While at Red Owl Tavern, diners can indulge in the  restaurant’s signature Philly Cheesesteak ($21, available during weekday lunch and weekend brunch service.) The menu item boasts Cooper Sharp American Cheese and caramelized onions with your choice of fries (or upgrade to cheese fries for $5) or a salad. Diners can opt to add avocado and/or bacon (+$5 each) for a little extra taste as well.

Sports & Social

For those who can’t make it out during the holiday, you’re not totally out of luck. Throughout April (the 1 to the 24) locals can stop by Sports & Social to Celebrate National Cheesesteak Day and National Cocktail Day a little late. The locale will be serving up a “Philly combo meal”, aka a cheesesteak and a can of Surfside for $27 for that entire month.
