National Margarita Day in Philadelphia: Here’s where to celebrate in 2024

Get your salt and limes ready, National Margarita Day (Feb. 22) is right around the corner in Philadelphia, and to celebrate, we’ve rounded up some of the best spots to sip on some spirits.

Añejo Philly

This Northern Liberties hotspot will be celebrating the holiday with a National Margarita Day Happy Hour on Feb. 22, from 5 to 7 p.m. Pitchers will be half off (blanco, anejo, mezcal and jalapeno flavors are available) and select tacos will be $5 (think chicken, al pastor, cauliflower, pork carnitas and crispy fish). Birria nachos, elotes, nachos, carnitas fries, chicken empanadas, guacamole and more will also be discounted.

Taqueria Amor 

This Manaunk hotspot is offering a special drink that Swifties will especially love. Their new Cruel Summer, (aka their Taylor Swift inspired margarita), is a grapefruit and blood orange frozen margarita with an elderflower liqueur float on top, then garnished with a mini disco ball and lime.

As a release also notes, on the 22nd, Taqueria Amor will also offer $3 off quesadillas plus lunch specials, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. like the $8.95 Amor and Frozen Margaritas and $35 Amor margarita pitchers. During National Margarita Day Happy Hour, from 4 to 6 p.m., all guests can also enjoy $2.50 off all Amor and frozen margaritas.

Buena Onda 

Chef Jose Garces’ Baja-inspired taqueria will be celebrating all day on Feb. 22 with a new prickly pear mango margarita, $3 chicken tacos and a margarita quesadilla being added to the menu. On Thursday, Philadelphians can also enjoy a happy hour from 4 to 6 p.m. at Buena Onda boasting 1/2 priced margaritas, $1 chips and salsa and $3 fish tacos.

LMNO

For the spirited holiday, locals can head to Fishtown to check out LMNO’s themed offerings. LMNO’s margaritas range from classic lime and strawberry to prickly pear and frozen mango garnished with chili salt. All margaritas can be served by the glass or by the pitcher.

La Roca 

This Manayunk venue is looking to spice up National Margarita Day with plenty of margaritas being served up, like their new “The Rocks People Margarita” (complete with models supplied by Teremanna) and the Watermelon La Roca Rita made in a shell of a watermelon. On that day, Lunazul Margs will be sold for $8 and hard seltzers for $6.

Pistolas Del Sur

Down in the East Passyunk neighborhood, Pistolas Del Sur will be serving up special flavors for National Margarita Day including pineapple balsamic and spicy melon mezcal margaritas. The venue will also be offering some food pairings to go along with the libations as well.

Sueno 

Sueno, Philly’s own Day of the Dead-inspired eatery, will be celebrating the holiday with 20% off all margarita pitchers, with flavors spanning classic, mango, guava and strawberry. The special will be available on Feb. 22, from lunch until closing.

El Vez 

The Center City spot is offering a few different options for National Margarita Day in Philadelphia. Guests can order up the classic El Vez margarita or spice things up with their frozen blood orange (made with silver tequila, triple sec, orange juice, blood orange purée and fresh lime juice), the Pink Cadillac (made with silver tequila, orange nectar, fresh orange, lime and cranberry juices), the Spicy Pineapple (boasting hornitos reposado, orange nectar, fresh lime juice, pineapple juice and agave syrup), or the Golden Margarita (made with Sauza Hornitos blanco, grand marnier, fresh lime juice, fresh orange juice.)
