Police Fatally Shoot Man in Hunting Park

Police reportedly shot and killed a man in Hunting Park early this morning.

Aldophus Pinkney, 26, entered Olga’s Sports Lounge on the 3800 block of North 9th near West Pike Street armed with a gun around shortly before 12:45 a.m. Patrons were reportedly able to force him out of the bar, lock the doors and call 911.

When police arrived to the 900 block of West Pike Street, Pinkney allegedly shot at them. Two officers returned fire. Pinkney, of the 300 block of East Erie Avenue, was pronounced dead on the scene.

As is routine, the officers have been assigned to desk duty pending an Internal Affairs investigation.
