A man was killed and a teenager was wounded in separate shootings that happened at around the same time Monday morning in Philadelphia, according to law enforcement officials.

Police said officers were called just after 10 a.m. to the 4900 block of N. Broad Street in Logan, where they discovered an adult man who had been shot multiple times. He was taken to Einstein Medical Center and died a short time later, authorities said.

The PPD identified the victim Tuesday as 32-year-old Shawn Caddell and said he was killed during a robbery.

Across town, in Grays Ferry, someone shot a 16-year-old boy at around 10 a.m. on the 2600 block of Latona Street, investigators said. Officers rushed him to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and authorities said he is expected to survive.

Law enforcement did not release any additional details about the circumstances of either shooting, and no arrests have been reported. Anyone with information is asked to call or text the PPD tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477).

Philadelphia experienced 87 homicides through July 5, a decrease of nearly 28% compared to the same date last year, according to police data. The number of gunshot victims is also down 35%.
