Sweater Weather: Best outdoor dining spots to watch the Eagles

Parx Casino will be offering one of the top outdoor destinations for fans to watch the Eagles fly come game time. The casino transformed its Liberty Bell Beer Garden from a closed indoor structure into an outdoor venue for prime kickoff viewing. The Beer Garden opened last week, and has been serving up menu items and drinks from the Casino’s popular Liberty Bell Gastropub which includes a rotating selection of all-American craft beers, wines and specialty cocktails. Parx’s Beer Garden is also ideal for those who are still feeling wary about crowds, the 7,600-square-foot space features socially distanced tables with plenty of room. Liberty Bell BG also features two patios with greenery, modern furniture and 10-foot long fire pits, and for game days there are two giant LED TV walls and even sports-betting kiosks for those who want to place a wager. Additionally, Parx Casino Sportsbook is also offering some primetime viewing for the game on the country’s first 155 foot TV screen which features dozens of seats and also 3 VIP areas.

Tradesman’s 

The Center City destination certainly was a hotspot for Eagles fans who bled green every game day last season. Now, the venue located on Chestnut Street has both indoor and outdoor TV viewing options as well as a large selection of liquid libations from the bar and BBQ fare. Inside, Tradesman’s features four different spaces, two different levels, and multiple HD TV’s as well as a giant ten-foot media wall behind the main bar. Outside, the bar and eatery has expansive outdoor sidewalk seating with several TV’s lining their property during Eagles games on Chestnut and Juniper Street – plus Thursdays to Sundays they have a street closure shutting down Chestnut at Juniper to traffic. That area is dubbed the Juniper Gardens – where during Eagles games they have a massive ten foot tall inflatable screen to watch the games. The hotspot will also feature a few game day specials including $6 wings, $20 Founders Solid Gold Buckets (5 cans per bucket) and $5 Founders All Day IPA Draft.

Tradesman’s

BRU Craft & Wurst

Not too far from Tradesman’s in Center City is another Sourias Concepts venue that hosts a prime location for those looking to watch the Birds play. BRU Craft & Wurst will feature both indoor and outdoor seating to watch some NFL on their 105 projection wall plus 8 HD flat-screen TV’s above the bar with the sound on. BRU will also be featured for seating along with Tradesman’s on Juniper Street for their street closure called Juniper Gardens. On top of the viewing experiences, the hotspot will feature 39 beers on tap and German fare for guests to grub on. They will also feature the same wing and beer specials as Trademan’s for every Eagles game.

Germantown Garden Grill

Germantown Garden Grill offers a whole new viewing experience for football fans during Eagles games this season. According to the release, Vesper Day Club and Pool is closed for the season and the entire space is transformed into a stylish, upscale steak house and game day destination for the remainder of the fall football season. Enjoy top steaks, seafood, cocktails, beer and more as you watch the game on the open-air deck surrounding the colored lit pool – with the game on 20 TVs with more being added. They have Sunday NFL Ticket as well, and there are 15 sections that are socially distanced and reservable including nine poolside that can be covered during rain or bad weather. Indoors Germantown Garden Grill has seating and tables  with TV and sound surrounding the covered deck and deck bar in case of poor weather as well.

Another recently opened dining destination in the Northern Liberties area is scoring touchdowns when it comes to viewing opportunities for the Eagles. SET opened this summer in Philly, and already the eatery has been gearing up for its first full sports season in the City of Brotherly Love. This new venue has viewing options for both indoors and outdoors with large HD TVs by the bar and even rolled out TVs onto the sidewalk with the sound on for those sitting for outdoor dining. SET also offers diners a slew of creations from the bar alongside its unique Asian fusion menu items, plus a special of 6 wings for $6 while the Birds play.

Evil Genius Beer Company

The hotspot brewery has always been known for serving up interesting and unique brews, but now Evil Genius is also going to become known as an ideal location to watch some football while in Fishtown. Evil Genius will be featuring plenty of prime viewing seats both indoors and outdoors, and there are even special game day packages that Birds fans can purchase ahead of the game. The package costs $45 per person and includes beer, hoagies, chips and pretzels (varies based on table size, more info is available online) with the backdrop of the Eagles playing on large HD TVs around the beer garden with the sound on.

Morgan’s Pier 

Morgan’s Pier has always provided Philadelphians with an ideal location to enjoy some drinks and food outdoors, and now adding the Eagles into the mix sports fans can really rejoice. Although the popular spot down by the Delaware River Waterfront is all outside, there is also plenty of covered space for when the weather isn’t as pleasant as you’d hoped. Morgan’s Pier will be playing every Eagles game with the sound on and is even featuring a Philly Sports Package featuring appetizers, and an open bar for $75 per person (not including tax and gratuity) from 30 minutes before the start of the game to 30 minutes after kick-off.

Stove and Tap in Lansdale and Malvern are giving Philadelphians a reason to drive outside of the city when the Eagles play. Both restaurants will be offering some enticing specials including $1 wings (Stove Hot Wings) and $3 Coors (Lansdale) and Miller (Malvern) Light for every Birds game this season. Diners can also indulge in some comfort food, plus spirits and more drinks from the bar while enjoying the game indoors or outdoors at the Lansdale location’s porch or the Malvern location’s patio.
