Lil Pop Shop
For all the Philly moms out there, why not treat them to something sweet? To celebrate Mother’s Day, Lil Pop Shop will be featuring a few special items available to pre-order before May 9. The new menu items include a chocolate chip cookie pie with a pint of Weckerly’s Vanilla Bean Ice Cream ($30), a double lemon pie ($30) and a jumble berry crumble pie ($30).
Lil Pop Shop is currently taking pre-orders via their website online. The deadline to pre-order is Thursday, May 6 at 5 p.m. to guarantee for pick up at their shop on either Saturday, May 8 or Sunday, May 9.
Kin Boutique
Shop till you drop for all of your Mother’s Day needs at this local hotspot—0ne item in particular has made its way to Kin in time for the holiday this Sunday. Zoe Citation Tee from the popular brand, Zadig & Voltaire, offers every mom the chance to feel both stylish and empowered. The front says “Woman” and the back has a quote in French from the brand’s Creative director Cecilia Bönström: “Souris et la vie the sourit” (which means smile and life smiles at you.) New Liberty Distillery
Instead of just getting some alcohol or spirits, why not take your mom to a cocktail-making class as an extra special treat? According to a release, New Liberty Distillery, the South Kensington craft distillery, is celebrating this Sunday by hosting three spring-themed, socially distanced cocktail classes on Mother’s Day.
Attendees and their Moms can choose between three available time slots: noon, 1:30 p.m., and 3 p.m., and during each one-hour class, Jacob Looney, Online Sales and Spirits Club Manager, will guide imbibers through the construction of two delicious libations made with New Liberty craft spirits: An Aviation (Snug Harbor Gin, Liberty Belle Crème de Violette Liqueur, Liberty Belle Sour Cherry Liqueur, lemon juice) and a Lucky Lavender Fizz (Snug Harbor Gin, Kinsey Triple Sec, lavender syrup, egg white, clarified lemon juice, and club soda). Each class will take place in the spacious outdoor cocktail garden on-site at New Liberty Distillery and for $125, guests will receive admission for two and all ingredients needed for the class, including a 750 ml bottle of Snug Harbor Gin, one 375 ml bottle of Crème de Violette Liqueur, and a 375 ml bottle of Sour Cherry Liqueur. Professional-grade barware, ice, garnishes, and tools will be provided by New Liberty Distillery.
To attend, guests are encouraged to register online. Registration includes admission to the cocktail class and a cocktail kit. Guests are invited to sign up online here. Cocktail kits can be picked up at the distillery on Mother’s Day, and in addition, New Liberty Distillery will also offer a wide array of cocktail gift packages to take home on Mother’s Day, in addition to the extensive variety of craft spirits available for purchase in the distillery’s retail space.
