Twice-a-week trash pickup has arrived for much of North Philadelphia, parts of Kensington, Fishtown and Northern Liberties.

A trash-filled vacant lot in the heart of Kensington will soon be transformed into a community garden after Klean Kensington was awarded a $17,000 Revive and Thrive grant to clean up and maintain the long-blighted property.

Frankford Avenue is set to sparkle once again with the return of Fishtown Freeze. Now in its seventh year, the annual celebration will take over the streets on Saturday, Dec. 6, filling the corridor with ice sculptures, live carving demonstrations, pop-ups, and plenty of holiday cheer.
